Working Group on Theory and Education in Heritage Conservation e.V.

The working group is the association of university lecturers and other experts who teach and research in the field of heritage conservation at universities and universities of applied sciences. In keeping with the interdisciplinary character of the tasks in the field of monument preservation, various professional disciplines are represented: Architecture and building research, art, history and restoration, landscape architecture, civil engineering, law, urban planning and others. The working group, which currently has almost 150 members, mainly from the German-speaking countries of the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg, but also from Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, England, Slovakia, Croatia, Estonia and Romania, has been dedicated to the collegial exchange of experience and ideas on the theory and university teaching of monument conservation since 1977. The working group sees itself as a representative of specialist interests in monument conservation and as such is a member of the German National Committee for Monument Conservation (DNK).
